Before You Read Available Records What are they seeking now? ✯✯Before you read✯✯ Welcome to the Nosferatu Lore Archive! Like those enchanted ledgers found upon the shelves in the Mage Consortium’s historic library, this archive is updated with new information regularly. Some knowledge, however, is not so easily kept. In the early months of the Archive's restoration, a number of critical volumes were stolen by agents of the Diabolus cult—torn from their wards, smuggled into shadowed realms, or simply vanished through infernal means. Since then, field mages, scribes, and sanctioned archivists have been dispatched across the known world to recover lost records, reconstruct stolen texts, and dispel the glamours concealing what was taken. As information is recovered, it is returned here and bound into the Archive once more. White panels indicate entries that remain unrecovered or are currently under Arcanean verification. Panels resembling book spines contain verified knowledge that has been restored and made accessible. Please be patient with the archivists—they’re very tired, slightly cursed, and doing their best. What are the archivists following leads on now? The latest communications tell us that the archivists are currently neck-deep in mountain ruins, coastal catacombs, and—unfortunately—one extremely haunted vineyard, searching for the next wave of lost knowledge. High on their priority list: Century-specific histories, especially from the lesser-documented provinces and wartime periods Country-led magical development records previously sealed by national councils or incinerated "by accident" Arcana bestiary entries, many last seen in scroll form, now likely scattered across half a continent And several crucial chapters from the Caeleste Treatise, rumoured to be in the hands of a retired demonologist who only speaks in riddles and is allergic to sunlight If you're reading this and happen to spot any suspicious glowing tomes, muttering parchments, or scrolls that keep relocating themselves, please don’t engage. Simply alert your nearest licensed archivist, and under no circumstances try to read them aloud. More to come. Assuming the next expedition doesn’t get eaten. What have the mages recovered? Through blood, sweat, and (more) tears (than they'd admit), the archivists have managed to recover for your viewing pleasure (and the Chancellors, who are, frankly, still fuming that any of this was lost in the first place and remain tragically unimpressed by their progress): Historical records covering 7th century Boszorkány (in records and education) History and Fellkin records for four of Aegisguard's vampire covens Information regarding ethos Information about three of Aegisguard's celebrated holidays • • Names and some facts about the other realms Access Classified Records Search the Lore Archive The Nosferatu Crown Archives The online encrypted repository preserving the collective histories, treaties, bloodlines, and recorded phenomena of Caeleste. Unlike the Book of Lore, which presents a theologically guided account of creation and events through Lethidian teachings, lore books delve into the darker, more complex realities of the world—empires rising and falling, revolutions erupting, and the cost of progress across all peoples, including non-humans and magical societies. While they occasionally reference artistic, scientific, or cultural advancements, such details are mentioned only in passing. Full exploration of those topics is reserved for other subjects such as History & Culture, Science & Nature, Applied Sciences & Technology, and the Caeleste Treatise. • Atheson | T.Csernis

< Back Atheson Coven Sobriquet: Marrowdyn House The reigning coven of Atheson City, Atheson's capital Coven History The Atheson Coven is recognized as one of the oldest and most established vampire covens within Aegisguard, with its origins traced to the 640s, during the period in which the Creator operated along the Rhenovaalis frontier in pursuit of Diabolus cult activity. At the time, the region that would later become Atheson City consisted of a small settlement situated along a ley-rich forest boundary. Contemporary assessments indicate the area possessed significant Arcana potential due to its iron-dense soil and convergence of ley lines. The Creator identified the location as strategically valuable and, anticipating future territorial conflict among Caeleste factions, established a permanent vampire presence to secure it. The site was developed as a controlled haven and defensive outpost. Among the earliest individuals entrusted with its governance was Eyra, one of the Creator’s first vampires, who was formally appointed Coven Master. Under her leadership, the Atheson Coven was established as a structured entity governed by law, secrecy, and territorial discipline. During the War of the Red Provinces [698(TG)–700(TG)], the coven adopted a policy of selective intervention. Injured soldiers abandoned in the surrounding forests and moorlands were recovered by coven members. Some were turned, while others were provided burial rites. Early accounts from the region describe the coven as a stabilizing presence during this period. Over subsequent generations, however, public perception shifted. As the conflict receded into historical memory, the coven’s actions were increasingly reframed through superstition and fear. Former narratives of aid were gradually displaced by suspicion, resulting in deteriorating relations between the coven and the growing human population. Throughout the following centuries, the Atheson Coven experienced sustained external pressure. Hostile incursions included organized hunter activity, territorial challenges from rogue werewolf packs, and attempts at influence by demons. These factors contributed to a gradual reduction in coven numbers and operational capacity. By 960(TG), Atheson City had developed into a major industrial centre, with little institutional memory of the coven’s earlier role in regional stability. Reports of unexplained deaths or livestock loss were routinely attributed to vampire activity, regardless of verification. In response to mounting public concern, a professional hunter known as the Silver Claw was contracted through private funding. Within a short period, two Knights of the coven were confirmed killed. The Creator subsequently returned to Atheson and initiated a series of corrective measures. These included the establishment of limited cooperative agreements with select werewolf factions under Greymore’s authority. The Duskroot Pack, noted for neutrality and discipline, was assigned to assist in securing Sanctum grounds. This marked a significant deviation from historical vampire–werewolf relations. Concurrently, the Creator authorized the turning of selected individuals from within Atheson’s civilian population. The stated objective was to re-establish social proximity between the coven and the city, thereby reducing hostilities through direct relational ties. These measures were compromised by the actions of Coven Master Eyra. Independent investigation revealed that, over a period of approximately two decades, she had turned in excess of seventy individuals without authorisation, often without consent or adequate vetting. This constituted a direct violation of vampire law and presented a substantial risk to regional stability. Eyra was formally tried before the Vampire Council, found guilty, and subjected to Unmaking. Her vampirism was removed through sanctioned rite, and she was returned to mortal condition before being released to the jurisdiction of affected parties. Her subsequent fate remains undocumented within official records. Following her removal, Noctrel was elevated to the position of Coven Master on Aprilis 1st, 960(TG). Under their leadership, the coven underwent structural and diplomatic reorganisation. The Silver Claw was eliminated shortly thereafter through a coordinated operation involving the Atheson Coven, the Duskroot Pack, and elements of the Zenith’s Legion. Post-conflict efforts focused on stabilisation and reconciliation. Newly turned individuals with existing ties to Atheson were deployed in controlled outreach roles, including civilian protection and conflict mitigation. Documented interventions, such as responses to hostile incursions and missing persons cases, contributed to a gradual reduction in public hostility. At present, relations between the Atheson Coven and Atheson City remain unstable but no longer overtly adversarial. Under Noctrel’s administration, the coven continues to operate within a framework balancing concealment, cooperation, and long-term integration. ⏎ Return to Vampire Covens Links to Relevant Historical Records 🌹 War of the Red Provinces Coven Fellkin Alendreya Knights Adherents Acolytes Fledgelings Coven Sanctum Floor Plan lower basement colour.png basement colour.png fourth floor colour.png lower basement colour.png 1/6 ⏎ Return to Vampire Covens

  • Antamont | T.Csernis

< Back Antamont Coven Sobriquet: Bleeding Dawn The reigning coven of Kronhavn, Antamont's capital Coven History The Antamont Coven was formally established in 642(TG). The Coven Sanctum, once named Castle Draalskoven, is located within Kronhavn Forest, several miles north of Søndhallow, the capital of Antamont. As one of the oldest and most enduring vampire institutions in the region, the coven was founded by Eske Jürgensen, one of the original four vampires turned in 588(TG) by the Creator. Formerly employed as a cipher-breaker and archival specialist within the Creator’s inner circle, Jürgensen assumed the role of Coven Master following the cessation of his duties and the stabilization of the early vampire progeny. At the time of its founding, Antamont’s sociopolitical climate was openly hostile to non-human entities. Vampires were widely regarded as heretical abominations, accused of plague-bearing, soul-theft, and corrupting divine order. The post-reform clergy, aligned with the Flame orthodoxy, intensified its campaigns against non-human entities during the mid-7th century, coinciding with a surge in rural purges, witch trials, and theological enforcement. Several early members of the Antamont Coven were executed during this period, prompting the remaining leadership to adopt a posture of strategic invisibility. Rather than respond with violence, Coven Master Eske enacted a policy of subtle influence and bureaucratic infiltration. Utilizing his background in codework and information management, he and Vice Matron Sidsel, his second, initiated a decades-long operation of misinformation, elite correspondence, and asset placement. This effort eventually culminated in the Silent Accord, an unwritten agreement observed by key figures in the capital: so long as the coven maintained discretion, regulated its own kind, and avoided direct interference in religious or noble affairs, it would not be actively hunted. By the early 8th century, the coven’s discreet interventions in regional stability, including the elimination of predatory cults, the protection of key trade routes, and the exposure of treasonous activity, began to earn it the private respect of select administrative circles. It was during this period that Helvig, a senior vampire within the coven and later titled Night Steward (third in command), began working directly with local administrators in the town of Ebelholt, situated just northeast of Søndhallow. The incident that precipitated her rise involved a series of disappearances and livestock mutilations believed to be the work of witches or beasts. The coven quietly intervened, identifying the source as a rogue ethereal hybrid abandoned from an older Arcana experiment. Helvig coordinated the resolution discreetly, and the issue was closed without public alarm. Impressed by her efficiency, discipline, and understanding of both human and non-human affairs, the town’s council later nominated her as a candidate for mayoral appointment. Despite initial resistance from conservative figures, Helvig’s term as mayor [703(TG)–719(TG)] brought notable improvements in infrastructure, arcane regulation, and rural protection programs. Her administrative performance, coupled with careful image management and moderate civic policy, led to her gradual elevation into regional governance. By the early 9th century, she was appointed to a low-tier ministerial advisory role in Søndhallow, where she has since continued to serve, acting as an informal liaison between the human government and the Antamont Coven. This unique positioning has made Helvig a central figure in the modern soft normalization of vampire presence within Antamont’s political framework. While open recognition remains politically unviable due to lingering religious influence, her participation in governance has facilitated smoother conflict resolution, prevented multiple supernatural incidents from escalating, and led to the implementation of early inter-species policy drafts, albeit unofficial. Today, the Antamont Coven functions as a para-political entity, possessing territorial sovereignty over Castle Draalskoven and operational autonomy in non-human matters. While its members remain unacknowledged in public law, private correspondence, trade networks, and high-level diplomatic circles frequently involve coven intermediaries. The Silent Accord, while never codified, remains in effect. Eske Jürgensen continues to serve as Coven Master, maintaining a reputation for strategic patience and intellectual austerity. Helvig, as Night Steward and embedded governmental advisor, serves as the coven’s face in human political arenas. Her role is considered essential to the current equilibrium between Antamont’s human institutions and its most influential non-human presence. ⏎ Return to Vampire Covens ... • Aresham | T.Csernis

< Back Aresham Coven Sobriquet: Coven Moribraes The reigning coven of Skelgarðr, Aresham's capital Coven History The Aresham Coven, headquartered in Skelgarðr, capital of Aresham, is one of the most culturally distinct vampire covens in Rhenovaalis. Founded in the late 8th century by Valgerður Næturhrafn, the coven’s formation marked a significant shift in the non-human presence of Aresham, a region previously untouched by formal vampiric governance. Valgerður’s story predates the coven itself. Born in the late 500s, she lived a humble life on the storm-lashed coast of eastern Aresham, the widow of a fisherman lost to the sea. During the blight of 612(TG), when rot and frost rendered the village’s food stores inedible, suspicion turned inward. In accordance with prevailing superstition, Valgerður was accused of being a fjölkunnig, a wielder of forbidden power, and condemned to burn for bringing ruin upon the settlement. While imprisoned in the village dungeon, she encountered a vampire bound in silver, imprisoned beneath the settlement after an earlier incident. In exchange for her freedom, the creature offered her a vision of a different life, one unburdened by fear or mortality. Valgerður freed the vampire, who in turn brought her before the Creator. In recognition of her defiance and curiosity, the Creator granted her the gift of immortality. She was turned at age 31. For the next century and a half, she travelled across continents, cultivating knowledge, languages, and perspective, far from the cold shores of her birthplace. Valgerður returned to Aresham in the latter half of the 700s, drawn by a shifting political landscape and the slow rise of coastal urbanisation in Skelgarðr. Sensing a gap in both non-human order and leadership, she established a formal coven in the hills above the city’s growing merchant quarter, claiming an abandoned citadel later reinforced into a secure holdfast. The Aresham Coven was thus founded, its governance structured more loosely than its mainland counterparts, reflecting Valgerður’s belief in independence and earned loyalty over blood-bound hierarchy. The initial presence of vampires in Aresham was met with deep suspicion. The region’s rural majority, shaped by centuries of isolation and clan-based resilience, viewed outsiders—and especially immortals—as unnatural forces to be driven away. Historical precedent for supernatural suspicion ran deep in Aresham, particularly following the so-called Cinder Trials of the 500s, in which numerous accused witches were drowned or burned along the northern fjords. This cultural memory fuelled resistance to Valgerður’s return, especially in the more devout fishing villages where belief in the Flame remained strong. However, unlike covens that relied on political manipulation or urban influence, Valgerður employed a strategy of discreet integration through protection, silence, and trade. Her vampires did not interfere with local politics directly, but instead began aiding isolated villages during harsh winters, intercepting raiders from southern waters, and defending supply routes during blizzards and storms. Over time, her leadership gained reluctant tolerance, particularly among northern port towns, where mysterious rescues and the absence of bodies from bandit attacks were attributed to 'the night’s watchful eyes.' In 796(TG), during a devastating outbreak of frostbite-induced illness along the Skelgarðr coast, the coven quietly delivered medicine, supplies, and controlled blood infusions to dying patients, using human intermediaries to mask their identity. The success of this intervention solidified the coven’s place in the region’s folklore, not as monsters but as silent protectors, feared and respected in equal measure. Today, the Aresham Coven is known for its relative neutrality, rugged independence, and emphasis on survival over politics. It maintains minimal interaction with other covens, though diplomatic ties with the Antamont and Atheson covens remain functional. Its membership is smaller than most, but highly self-reliant, with a culture that blends northern pragmatism with deep ancestral reverence. Rituals honouring the sea, night, and memory are commonplace within the holdfast. Valgerður Næturhrafn remains Coven Master, a figure of enduring mystery and measured distance. She rarely leaves the fortress except during rare storms or quiet walks along the fjords. Among vampires, she is respected as a quiet tactician, one who prefers endurance to expansion, and watches the world not as a player but as a tide that will eventually turn in her favour. ⏎ Return to Vampire Covens Coven Fellkin 1/0 ⏎ Return to Vampire Covens

  • Boszorkány | T.Csernis

< Back Boszorkány Coven Sobriquet: Bloodworth The reigning coven of Miréfalle, Boszorkány's capital Coven History The Miréfalle Coven, established in 694(TG), is the fourth vampire coven formally recognized under the authority of the Creator. It is headquartered in the city of Miréfalle, capital of Boszorkány, and functions as both a political stronghold and a cultural symbol of vampiric endurance in a region historically defined by theological instability and social unrest. The coven is known for its strict territorialism and does not tolerate the unsanctioned presence of Straybloods—vampires unaffiliated with any coven—within the city’s bounds. Straybloods found operating in Miréfalle without express permission are either expelled or detained for formal investigation. This uncompromising stance has earned the coven a reputation for internal order and external severity. In addition to its control over the capital, the Miréfalle Coven maintains oversight of several branched covens across Boszorkány’s provinces. These smaller, master-less covens are subordinate to Fane’s authority and are strategically placed to monitor specific cities, towns, and regions. While they operate with limited autonomy, their purpose is primarily custodial and defensive, ensuring local stability, suppressing unsanctioned vampire activity, and reporting directly to the Miréfalle Sanctum. This network of oversight reflects the coven’s enduring emphasis on structure, control, and centralized power. The coven’s formation is attributed to Fane de Montclairis, a former nobleman of the Boszorkian court, who was turned by the Creator in 657(TG) at the age of 48. His transformation occurred during the period of intense religious upheaval known as the Boszorkian Wars of Split Faith [616(TG)–680(TG)], a series of internal conflicts between the dominant Lethidian orthodoxy and the reformist faction known as the Velthrenists, a movement that sought theological decentralization and the redefinition of divine authority. Fane’s mortal biography is marked by tragedy and subsequent retribution. His wife, Élaine de Montclairis, a noblewoman of Velthrenist lineage, was executed during the escalation of the conflict. In the aftermath, Fane publicly denounced a prominent Lethidian noble house, accusing them of orchestrating her murder. He was arrested, interrogated, and sentenced to death at the Bastille. It was in the wake of his public disgrace that vampires loyal to the Creator intervened, motivated by the same noble house’s recent execution of two Adherent Vampires. Fane was extracted from human custody and presented to the Creator, who, having resided in Miréfalle during the period of religious violence, was already aware of the Montclairis downfall. Fane was offered immortality in exchange for loyalty, and he accepted. From 657(TG) to 694(TG), Fane remained under the Creator’s direct supervision. His training concentrated on administrative oversight, Arcana regulation, and political diplomacy—skills urgently needed in a nation approaching theological collapse. The Creator tasked him with identifying and preparing a prospective coven: individuals, many of them still human, who demonstrated exceptional discretion, endurance, and ideological independence during a time of mounting religious tension. Key milestones during this preparatory phase included: - The Bloodwake of Seratène [657(TG)]: A state-sanctioned purge of Velthrenist-aligned nobles and arcane sympathisers in Miréfalle, carried out by zealous Lethidian enforcers. Though not yet part of a formal war, the event marked an early flashpoint in Boszorkány’s spiralling theological tensions. Fane, newly turned, was ordered by the Creator to observe but not intervene—his first trial in restraint, discipline, and emotional detachment. - The Ascension of Aurélien the Tolerant [679(TG)]: Formerly a Velthrenist noble, Aurélien de Vienne converted to Lethidism and seized the throne, inaugurating a fragile period of peace. During this time, Fane began assembling his core cohort of future vampires from among disgraced clergy, political exiles, and survivors of the war. - The Trials of Loyalty [681(TG)–693(TG)]: The Creator personally oversaw a series of endurance trials, pitting Fane’s candidates against moral, Arcanean, and social pressures. Only those who survived without breaking covenantal law were inducted. In 694(TG), Fane formally established the Miréfalle Coven, repurposing the de Montclairis ancestral estate as a Coven Sanctum. The estate was warded under Creator-given rites and outfitted as a political and logistical centre for vampire affairs across Boszorkány. The founding was not publicly declared but was acknowledged through veiled correspondence among neighbouring covens. Since its inception, the Miréfalle Coven has played a significant role in stabilizing vampiric activity within Boszorkány’s central provinces. Its founder, Fane de Montclairis, remains Coven Master and is widely regarded as one of the most politically astute members of the Creator’s inner circle. His rule is defined by formality, precision, and doctrinal purity. ⏎ Return to Vampire Covens ... Coven Fellkin - 1/1 ⏎ Return to Vampire Covens

  • The Codex Aeternum (List) | T.Csernis

The Codex Aeternum A centuries-old, partially translated compendium chronicling the governance, customs, hierarchies, and judicial rulings of vampires. Originally inscribed in a now-fractured dialect by early coven jurists, its earliest folios predate the founding of most mortal empires. The Codex includes rulings from ancient blood courts, treaties between rival lineages, and sanctioned punishments for internal and external transgressions. It also catalogues major coven structures, noble bloodlines, accepted rites of inheritance, and disputes brought before the Vampire Council. Due to the antiquity and inconsistency of its language—some portions rendered in dialects only partially deciphered—much of the Codex remains the subject of ongoing academic translation efforts. The Codex Aeternum is maintained under the authority of recognized vampire sovereigns and their emissaries, with limited access to certain volumes granted to accredited Elders, coven Scribes, Arbiters, and interspecies liaisons. Unauthorized access is considered a diplomatic violation under both Arcana-Tethered Law and the Sentinel of Accord Treaty of 1003(TG). Revisions are exceedingly rare, typically issued only after bloodline extinction, tribunal upheaval, or territory collapse.
